Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Unit Accounting Manager to work primarily with the Electronics installation and service unit.  This role will be essential to the close processes, financial performance, budget management, and strategic financial planning for a dedicated business unit within our organization. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in managing financial operations related to electronic components, security systems, surveillance technologies, construction and/or HVAC while providing insights to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Management & Reporting
    • Maintain and monthly close the financial statements of the reporting unit including month end close entries, reconciliations and analysis.
    • Essential member of the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the business unit.
    • Prepare and analyze profit & loss statements, cost reports, and variance analysis specific to electronics and security systems.
    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and accounting principles.
    • Lead quarterly and annual inventory counts. 
  • Account Management & Business Strategy
    • Act as the financial liaison between the business unit and corporate finance teams.
    • Provide strategic guidance on revenue growth, expense control, and financial risk management.
    • Collaborate with sales, procurement, and operations to optimize profitability.
    • Assess contract profitability and pricing structures for physical security and electronic equipment deals.
  • Risk & Compliance Oversight
    • Monitor cost control measures and ensure adherence to financial policies.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory and taxing authorities.
    • Maintain and enhance an effective control environment
    • Work with external auditors and internal compliance teams to streamline financial processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Partner with engineering, sales, and product teams to align financial strategies with business objectives.
    • Develop financial models to support investment decisions in security technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in electronics, security systems, surveillance technologies, construction and/or HVAC
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, product costing, and supply chain finance for electronics and security systems.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) and financial reporting tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of security industry financial regulations and electronic component pricing structures is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
