Overview

Do you like numbers and want a job where you can make a positive impact?

Come to Titan Security Group, one of the fastest-growing, privately held security services providers in the nation. We’re small enough that you won’t feel like a “number” like at our multibillion-dollar global competitors, but big enough that we can provide security at iconic locations like Willis Tower and Millennium Park in Chicago.

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support the Accounting department in preparing and maintaining financial records to track company assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. This role is a hybrid, 2 days work from home & 3 days based in the Chicago Loop area office.

Role Responsibilities:

As the Staff Accountant, you’ll have a diverse set of responsibilities. These will include:

  • Assist in full-cycle accounting activities, including month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis involving multiple entities.
  • Monitor various closing checklists to ensure all deliverables completed timely.
  • Inventory control and management.
  • Mentor and coach A/P staff and review work and supporting documentation for accuracy.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Direct involvement in the integration of newly acquired companies.
  • Involvement in financial statement audits.
  • Document accounting procedures.
  • Assist in preparation of the monthly Board Report, and other Financial Reports as needed.
  • Work on special projects and transactions as requested.

Qualifications

Role Qualifications:

You may be our ideal candidate if you have:

  • Highly proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, V-lookups, SUMIFs, IF-THEN, conditional formatting).
  • Strong attention to detail in a moderately complex business environment.
  • High degree of initiative and adaptability.
  • In office a minimum 3 days per week; West Loop location.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA a plus.
  • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP.
  • Minimum one-year related experience.
  • Exposure to unions and union contract review is a plus.
  • Resourceful and solution oriented. You can be given a task and put it together from beginning to end in a timely manner with minimal guidance or oversight.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic. You take ownership of your role and have a sense of urgency to proactively stay on top of your various projects and responsibilities.
  • A team player and able to take feedback as an opportunity to improve and develop skills to grow into a career with the company.
  • Pay attention to the most minor details and are extremely organized. You can deliver high caliber, on-time work while managing multiple responsibilities and projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable with technology and learning new systems and software.

Salary & Benefits: Compensation is 70-75k, depending on experience plus discretionary year-end bonus, paid vacation and personal days, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and AD&D insurance, paid holidays, and 401(k) match. Skills-enhancing training and opportunities for career growth and promotion.
